7 Fun Date Night Ideas for Fall

This is a guest post by Alex Berger from The Berger Bungalow:

Lets be real...date nights can be tricky.  With our busy schedules, it is so easy to fall into an  everyday monotonous routine, which can greatly affect that one on one time with your significant other.   For me, my date night ideas typically consist of dinner and a movie. When date night comes around my husband and I ask each other, “What do you want to do?”, and in unison, we answer, “I don’t care! What do you want to do?” Because of this, it can be very hard to come up with a unique and fun date night.  Here’s the good news! I am here to help you get out of your date night rut. I’ve come up with a few different and unique date night ideas for this fall season. Hopefully these date nights will help to ignite that spark and give you guys the spontaneity you’ve been missing.

Mountain Getaway

If you’re looking to get out of town for the weekend, enjoy the perfect not-too-hot-not-too-cold weather by getting away to the mountains. Now is the perfect time to experience all of the beautiful colors of the changing leaves, making a  trip to the mountains even more enjoyable. You can explore the surrounding areas, and partake in fun activities during the day, and cuddle up with board games and movies at night! The mountains have a lot to offer and typically have fun activities nearby like hiking trails, vineyards, and lakes/rivers for water fun.

Hiking

Speaking of hiking, this is another great fall activity!  If you don’t want to invest in a full weekend getaway, you can get a similar experience by enjoying a nice hike with your loved one. Most areas offer hiking trails, and this is one of our favorite activities.  Sometimes we even bring the dog with us! If you are unsure of where to hike, a quick Google search will pull up some trails close to you. Hiking is a great way to get some exercise, enjoy the beautiful weather and changing leaves, and also spend some quality time with each other.  Fall is my favorite hiking season.

Pumpkin Patch

This is a classic fall activity for a reason! Pumpkin patches are perfect for those weeks right before Halloween. Many patches go far beyond simply picking out a pumpkin.  Hayrides, apple cider tastings, corn mazes, sunflower fields, photo ops, and petting zoos are all activities that can be found when pumpkin picking. As an added bonus, the fun doesn’t end once you leave the patch. When you take a pumpkin home with you, you can also enjoy the fun (and messy) part of carving it! For extra fun, pick out 2 pumpkins and have a contest to see who can carve the scariest/funniest one. Check out a pumpkin patch near you to see what fun activities you can do there!

Blanket Fort Movie Night

Making a blanket fort in your living room is not just for kids. In fact, as adults, I feel that we can appreciate the coziness of a blanket fort more than kids. Grab your significant other, some blankets, any nearby furniture, a laptop/TV for watching movies, and get to building! Stuff your fort with plenty of pillows and blankets, and grab some apple cider or hot cocoa to make the perfect night even better.

Picnic

Everyone loves to eat, but not all dates have to be in fancy restaurants.  Going on a picnic is one of our favorite fall activities. The weather this time of year is perfect for this date idea.  You can create a fun on the go meal together, or you can simply grab some finger sandwiches. The beauty of this is that you can make your meal as fancy or as simple as you want. Just don't forget to pack a comfortable blanket and a bottle of wine!   Make your way to a field, or another good picnic spot, unpack, lay back and enjoy! Picnics can be extremely romantic and can definitely help to spice things up!

Apple Picking

Although this is a typical fall activity, there is a reason that everyone wants to do it!  I make it a point to go apple picking every single fall. Apple picking is fun for all ages and gives you time in nature to spend with your loved one. There is nothing like taking home fresh apples, and trying all of the apple products that most orchards offer. Like pumpkin picking, there are typically more activities offered.  Some farms near me have petting zoos, hayrides, and corn mazes! I love going home and making fresh apple crisp with our finds. This is a great date activity, but you can also take your family along to give everyone the full fall experience!

Fall Ball 2019

Last but not least, you could attend the Fall Ball that USA Ballroom is putting on at Buona Sera, an Italian Restaurant in Red Bank, New Jersey! Fall Ball is a five course dinner, with dancing and a show. If you want to get in on the action even more, you might want to even consider taking dance lessons at USA Ballroom.  Dancing is an activity that covers all the bases of a date night: It’s romantic, sensual, and it’s fun! Since USA Ballroom is New Jersey’s premier ballroom and latin dance studio I would highly recommend trying lessons there. When it comes to their ballroom dance classes, they say that their classes are easy, fast, and fun. They can help teach you how to dance the Rumba, Foxtrot, or Waltz to name a few.  Learning with your significant other is a great way to have fun and connect. USA Ballroom is passionate about dancing and is always committed to their students. They are offering a complimentary dance lesson to anyone who wants to try it!  This may be out of your comfort zone, but trust me when I say, this will be one of the most fun date nights you can have!

I hope that these fall date night ideas will help you to experience some new things with your partner.  I hate that feeling of monotony, especially when it comes to your love life. Getting out there and trying new things is one of the best ways to keep things spicy and fun.  Comment below and let me know of any other date night ideas you have. If you try any of these, let me know about your experience!
